About The Website
The website
sehanafsia.moph.gov.qa
is an initiative of the
Qatar National Mental Health Strategy (2013-2018)
. Objective 1 of the Strategy pledges to raise public awareness about mental health, reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and make mental health information resources widely available for the public.
Launched in 2018, Qatar’s first mental health website – “Your Mind Matters” in
Arabic "
صحتك
النفسية
" – provides public information about wellbeing, mental health conditions and how to access services in Qatar. This online resource supports the delivery of the Strat
egy’s
vision for
good mental health and wellbeing for the people of Qatar supported by integrated mental health services with access to the right care, at the right time and in the right place.
sehanafsia.moph.gov.qa
has been tailored to respond to the specific needs of the people living in Qatar as informed by local research. The Mental Health Attitudes and Awareness Baseline Measure undertaken in 2015 revealed that the majority of respondents (81%) would seek mental health and wellbeing information online as a first step. The quotes featured across the website are from Qatari and other Arab participants of focus group research by the Academic Health System funded
Partners in Promoting Mental Health Awareness project
in 2014.
This website is administrated by the Ministry of Public Health, under the coordination of the National Mental Health Program.
Our key health partners including:

A special thanks is extended to the Expert Advisory Group of mental health clinicians, communications advisors, public health experts and the IT department at Ministry of Public Health who collaborated across a range of health partner organizations to guide the development of the website design and content.
